Instead of updating firmwares or commenting on the faked benchmark scores, Meizu decided to release another device – the M5s.
As the name indicates, its a M5-Series device. Equipped with a MTK6753 octa core, 3GB RAM and a 5.2″ screen the M5s is not that spectacular. Furthermore it also features a 3000mAh battery with speed charge and a fingerprint scanner.
Surprisingly Meizu decided against an USB Type-C port though. Instead they went oldschool and used a classical microUSB one.
Storage sided a 16GB and 32GB version will be available, which both can be extended over a microSD card.
Priced at 799RMB (16GB) or 999RMB (32GB) it will go on sale next week Monday with 3 different colors (gold, rose gold, silver) in an Aluminium body.
Now, whats new?
First of all it will be the first Meizu device officially shipped with Flyme 6.
Second, it will be the first Meizu device to use a KI-engine, called “One Mind”, which learns actively from the users behaviour and therefore tries to optimize the system according to it.
Lastly its upon the user to decide, whether or not he wants to own such a data collecting device as this indeeds requires advanced data collection. In fact, this is a truly concerning fact, especially if you consider that you do not even know where your data is located at and what else is done with it.
