Several news from Meizu today. First of all, Jack Wong confirmed in the official Chinese Meizu BBS that the upcoming MX4 smartphone will come with a Samsung Exynos 5430 processor. The Samsung Exynos 5430 is the latest octa-core processor from Samsung, with 4 Cortex A7 cores running at 1,5GHz and 4 Cortex A15 cores running at 2,1GHz. These cores are supported by a Mali T6-series GPU running at 600MHz, which supports displays of at least 2K. It is also assumed to be Samsung’s first 64-bit processor and will be the first Exynos octa-core to support LTE.
Secondly, Meizu officially announced that Android 4.4 KitKat will enter its public testing stage in June. An official release is due in the end of that month. In the same announcement, Meizu also said that Android 4.4 KitKat for the MX needs more investigating. The MX3 also got some KitKat love today – the latest 3.6.3A test firmware can be found here.
